And Bollywood has had various gems to its name in the comedy genre, so here is a list of five such movies that make us go 'ROFL' every time –

Andaz Apna Apna - This 1994 Salman Khan and Aamir Khan starrer is one of the remembered movies of the industry. The film stars Amir Khan and Salman Khan as the male protagonists who are two loafer-type guys competing to win over the heart of aa royal heiress but somehow end up protecting her from various goons. Though when the movie was released, it was unable to gather many audiences, but in today's time, it holds a reputation of being a comedy cult classic. Various dialogues from the films are still hearted to heart memorized by many people and have been quoted and re-quoted on numerous occasions.

Angoor - 1982 Gulzar directed movie Angoor, which is based on "A Comedy of Errors" by Shakespeare, is a story of two pairs of twins who are separated at birth and how crazy their lives turn after they meet in their adulthood. The movie gave us one of the most excellent performances by actors like Sanjeev Kumar, Moushumi Chatterjee, Deven Verma, and various others and is known to be one of the finest performances by an Indian actor.

Munna Bhai movies - Munna Bhai, a name that will go down in history as one of the most iconic characters of Bollywood in both film, proved how comedy is the most widespread and loved genre. The film directed by Rajkumar Hirani casts Sanjay Dutt as the titular role and Arshad Warsi as his sidekick 'Circuit' and Boman Irani as the antagonist in both. The first instalment, Munnabhai: MBBS, focused on a Mumbai based underworld don who takes on a medical college by storm, and the second instalment, LageRaheMunna Bhai, revolved around the use of 'Gandhigiri' in modern times and for contemporary problems. 

Hera Phera movies - Both Hera Pheri (2000) and Phir Hera Pheri (2006) which casts Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal are known to be one of the funniest movies of all time. The first film, which is a remake of the 1989 Malayalam movie Ramji Rao Speaking, revolves around the lives of a troublesome trio. Both the film shows the story of the trio who get into some troubling scenario and then try to find their way out of the problems. Most of the dialogues in the movies are still relevant to today's issues and are widely used. 

Golmaal: Fun Unlimited - Another legendary film series 'Golmaal,' which has had four instalments yet, is still praised most for its first film. This 2006 film, directed by Rohit Shetty, has a star-studded cast. In the movie, four college dropouts who are now roommates run away from their debts. They take shelter in a bungalow owned by a blind couple and pose as someone else and go on a journey of crazy adventures. The fifth instalment has been announced by the makers and cast of the Golmaal series, and fans couldn't be more excited and happy about it.
