Tech lovers and gadget freaks, hear, hear! It’s going to be like Christmas this fall for you all. Google is bringing new hardwares this October, which will mainly involve Nexus smartphones built in teaming up with OEM partners.
Many more things can be be different with Google’s number of hardware projects as well as the replacement of Nexus brand with Pixel-badged line of smartphone devices. The final revelation will be done on October 4 2016, reportedly. There will be an event dedicated to hardware purely where the Android-maker will reveal two Pixel phones, one will be known as Pixel- which will be 5-inch and the other Pixel XL- which will be 5.5-inch smartphone. These devices will be HTC- built making them different from other Pixel hardware, including the Chromebook Pixel and Pixel C tablet, whose designs are handled by in-house designers of Google itself.
The other devices to be showcased in this event will be Google Home Smart Speaker, which the company has reportedly already shown off at I/O this year in May. Another hardware is a headset for a Daydream VR created in-house. Daydream VR also happens to be a part of I/O’s announcements. It is the VR platform built into Android Nougat available to all Android smartphones that meet its minimum hardware specifications. Finally, there is also going to be a version of Chromecast that supports 4K. Chromecast got a refresh last in late September 2015.
The launch timing is in perfect synchronization of Google’s past practice with refreshing Nexus hardware. Although typically, Google will follow shortly after Apple’s Introduction of its own devices.
