Classy as it can get, XOLO Q1200 looks like quite a work of art. The Indian smartphone brand added another full featured phone to its Q series. Priced at just 13,999 INR, this phone has every kind of sensor you can think of! Premium look, lean frame, and a whole lot of added softwares (as claims the brand) as compared to previous phones in the series – the XOLO Q1200 is definitely one of the better crafted phones against the presently prevailing devices from other Indian brands.
For starters, the phone comes with a non-removable back cover and battery, a feature mostly seen in high end phones. It gets another fraction of its class from the partially metallic back panel. While it contributes to the bulk one might feel when carrying the phone, it also makes the phone look edgy. The back panel is bejeweled with a Gorilla Glass protected 8MP rear camera featuring Sony’s Exmor R Sensor along with a Dual LED flash.
The fascia of the phone boasts Corning Gorilla Glass 3 spanning over a 5 inch HD IPS display. By HD we mean a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and pixel density of 294 PPI. Brilliant colors and sharp images and the brightness that stays with you till you look away impress the user. The touch sensitivity is remarkable. Double-tap-to-unlock, pattern-unlock for specific apps and gesture controls give immense pleasure as commands because the phone responds to them right away. Bordering the display on top is a 2MP front camera and capacitive navigation keys on the bottom.
Operating on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the XOLO Q1200 is promised to get an upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat OS in near future. The smartphone sports a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor combined to a 1 GB RAM. Amazingly smooth navigation and UI, high processing speed and quick responses and easy multitasking prove that no better processor could be bestowed on the phone. Along with the gliding smooth gesture controls and double-tap features the phone offers features like Cols Screen Access, dual window and voice recognition – quite some elements for its price. An internal memory of 8 GB and expandable memory up to 64 GB do not disappoint at all.
XOLO Q1200 comes with some fun features you might like to play with. The voice recognition, for instance, lets to accept or reject calls without picking the phone up. Also, it lets you capture crisp and high quality images just by saying “Cheese”. Gesture Control feature of the phone give you liberty of not touching the phone if you don’t feel like. Just a wave would do! The response will still be just as fast. Dual speakers on the metallic back panel are powered by Dolby Digital sound technology. However, the experience is not as awesome as that offered by HTC phones having front speakers.
You can pick your XOLO Q1200 in black or white. No funky colors for this phone! The only setback for this phone is the outdated OS. Other than that, the XOLO Q1200 is absolutely worth the bucks you spend for it!
