Amit Shah is the force behind BJP’s victory in recent general elections and is a major force within the party. With him at the helm of campaign, one can guarantee nothing but victory, but for all the reasons he has given the ruling BJP to be happy about is he is also someone who is known for making statements which could prove difficult to back it up. His statement about the money from Shardha Chit Fund Scam was used to finance the Burdhwan bomb blast has now been refuted by his own ruling party according to a report published in Times of India.
The parliament was told that so far no links has been found between Shardha Chit Funds and the Burdwan Blasts and no money crossed the border. Minister of state in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh said, "The investigation has so far not revealed any such transaction where money was routed to Bangladesh to fund terror activities.” In a rally held last Sunday Amit Shah had openly accused the West Bengal government, which is under the rule of TMC and of its leaders directly being involved in the bomb blast. Mr Jitendra Singh further tweeted “Nowhere a clean chit is given by anybody, it clearly reads, that matter is still under investigation: @Jitendra Singh.” Now how the government is going to spin this new political hailstorm created by Amit Shah who practically accused the TMC of terrorism will be cause for wonder.
Such statement can surely invigorate the masses but also creates problems politically when unsubstantiated statements are made which will now give the beleaguered opposition ammunition to get back at the government and stall proceedings in the Parliament. This has not been a very good week for the BJP in the domestic front with Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti using derogatory words to describe all those people who do not support the BJP and then to top it all the leader of the Utter Pradesh Hindu Mahasabha Navin Tyagi saying all those women who perform item numbers in Bollywood is labeled as prostitutes.
It is apparent that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is quite popular with the masses and has achieved success after success in his foreign policy, however it seems his Achilles Heel is his own party members who think they can get away with anything because it will get clouded under the leadership of Mr. Modi. If they continue to attack and make irresponsible statements like this soon they will lose all credibility and already the opposition would go back and start doing some fact checking of all the statements made by Amit Shah and if any one turns out be a false statement BJP will soon have to make a decision whether to entrust him as their campaigner at large because now the opposition will go after the government with all gusto.
