N Chandrababu Naidu under the house of cards
N Chandrababu Naidu official residence Praja Vedika located right next to Godavari river is being demolished by the new Jagan Mohan Reddy government, as it found ‘illegal’.
Telugu Desam Party leader N Chandrababu Naidu found the annexe to his official residence Praja Vedika located right next to Godavari river is being demolished by the new Jagan Mohan Reddy government, on grounds of it being ‘illegal’ and everyday his senior party leaders abandoning him and the latest is, Lanka Dinakar TDP National Spokesperson.
Lanka Dinakar a senior TDP functionary has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after four TDP Rajya Sabha MPs -- YS Chowdary, CM Ramesh, TG Venkatesh, all from Andhra Pradesh, and G Mohan Rao who hails from Telangana, joined the BJP new President JP Nadda.
Election for Lok Sabha seats and Assembly seats were held simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh and the TDP lost by a landslide. The party in the Andhra got reduced to just 23 seats in the assembly and only managed to get 3 lok Sabha seats.
Chandrababu Naidu’s political calculation for leaving the National Democratic Alliance was disastrous because PM Modi would not arbitrarily accept all his demands which included Andhra Pradesh be given special status. But after the elections he finds himself under the house of cards and now there is open rebellion, as many of his former MP’s and MLA’s are looking to safeguard their political future in Andhra Pradesh.

The former Andhra CM always had a habit of leaving alliances before elections and was called serial political opportunists whose sole desire is to have a seat at the table. But now his future in Andhra politics is seriously compromised and it is his entire fault, because for a long time he has been infected with the virus of entitlement
What we witnessed during the 2019 elections was a cultural shift were individuals with a deep sense of entitlement did not see the change people wanted because those in power are always terrified of change. They believe only them should exclusively reign but their power fantasies now lie in ruins.
It must be very hard for Chandrababu Naidu to fathom, just few months ago he had high hopes and aspirations to be the next Prime Minister of India and he did his best to form a coalition to defeat BJP led by Narandra Modi. But he did not realize that he will be a two time loser at the state and at the national level. He is now left with no bargaining chips at the table because the people he joined forces with also only had their interests.
Chandrababu Naidu is the Son in Law of legendry South Indian film star NT. Rama Rao who started TDP and went on to become the first non Congress Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. It is an open secret how he usurped the control of TDP away from NTR and how broken the man was who was hailed as the champion of the poor and the working class.
However no one can take away some of the achievements of Chandrababu Naidu and how he managed to make Hyderabad a center for software development among other things. But it seems he has now played all his cards and the time has come for him to fold.
No one gives up power in politics without a struggle but their lies the beauty of democracy and this great leader of Andhra Pradesh forgot. When the quest is only to seek power with absence of ideology, there is absence of ideas.
John George Nicolay private secretary to US President Abraham Lincoln said, “It may be assumed as an axiom that Providence has never gifted any political party with all of political wisdom or blinded it with all of political folly.”
