Sushma Swaraj passed away after a cardiac arrest

Former External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj and veteran BJP leader passed away after a cardiac arrest at the age of 67. She was brought to AIIMS around 10 pm. The doctors tried to revive her for an hour, but she died at 10.50 pm.
The sudden demise of Sushma Swaraj triggered a wave of shock and grief. The dead body was kept at the BJP headquarters for party workers and leaders for paying tributes. Her last rites were performed at Lodhi crematorium.
What happened to veteran BJP leader?
Sushma Swaraj was not keeping well and had a kidney transplant in 2016 and continued to work. Despite a serious medical situation and hospitalization, she continued to work hard. Due to health reasons, Sushma Swaraj declared that she will not contest 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Many hours before demise, she congratulated Prime Minister after the government canceled the special status for J & K, saying that she was waiting to see this day in her lifetime.

Tributes of the prime minister, president, vice president, and speaker 
Prime Minister said it was a personal loss. He further added that a glorious chapter in Indian politics had ended with the death of Sushma Swaraj. He also tweeted that India grieves the loss of a remarkable leader and he could not forget the tirelessly working of former external affairs minister under her tenure. When she was not well, she has done everything possible that she can do for her work.
President, Vice President and Lok Sabha Speaker condoled Swaraj's demise and said that she was a distinguished parliamentarian and good orator. President Kovind tweeted that India has lost a loved leader who exemplified courage, dignity & integrity in public life. She was always ready to help others and will always be remembered for her service. 
Vice President said her death was a huge loss and a personal loss to him. He further added that she was an outstanding Parliamentarian, excellent administrator, and a remarkable orator. 
Lok Sabha Speaker said that she used to keep human sensibilities paramount. She has set new paradigms in the country and always kept the interests foremost and gave it expression.
Former president Pranab Mukherjee tweeted that he is shocked with the sudden demise of Sushma Swaraj and he is beyond words and distressed. He further added that she was an excellent parliamentarian, an excellent humane and an effective orator
