Three time Delhi CM dies at 81

Three-time Delhi sd Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit died on Saturday,She was 81 and was ill from a long time.

Three-time Delhi senior Congress leader and Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit died on Saturday, she was 81. She was ill from a long time and was admitted in a city hospital where she died.

Escorts Fortis, director, Dr Ashok Seth said that Sheila Dikshit was handled by a team of doctors. She again undergone the cardiac arrest and was put on a ventilator, she passed away.

She was the senior-most Congress leader in Delhi and served as Delhi's chief minister for around15 years. She was president of Delhi Congress and served as Delhi's chief minister from 1998-2013. She was also near to UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

Sonia Gandhi has written that her heart is filled with grief and a sense of loss for her.

She further added that she has come to share regard for Sheilaji & to value her as they both have developed close relationship and worked closely together at the time when she was Chief Minister of Delhi.

 

Sonia Gandhi praised her that she used to work with vision and dedication to transform Delhi. She want to make Delhi a much better place to live for all the citizens including people below the poverty line.  She brought humanity, grace, wisdom, and excellence. And with great loyalty and courage she served the Congress Party, till the end!

The Delhi government has announced 2-day state mourning for former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who died this Saturday. Delhi Government has also accordd her a state funeral.
 

Also, Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh pays respects to Sheila Dikshit and said that it is great loss for Congress Party and country. We have lost an outstanding administrator and leader who transformed Delhi beyond recognition. India will remember her contribution to transform Delhi for a long time.

Also, many other people have expressed their grief, loss and views on the sudden demise of Sheila Dikshit.
