The list is out and some of the big names of the last World Cup are missing. The Likes of Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehweg, Harbajan Singh, Gautam Gambhir and Zaheer Khan did not make the cut. Most of the players who were part of the 2011 are missing and new names have been added to the list. The men who selected the team were chairman of selectors Sandeep Patel, Saba Karim, Vikram Rathore, Rajander Hans, and Roger Binny.
However the people who made it to the squad are
MS Dhoni (c & wk), Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Stuart Binny, Umesh Yadav
The moment the list was out social networking site twitter was simply buzzing with comments from all over the world and many have been not too happy with some of the players who have been selected into the team. The name making the most round in twitter is that of Stuart Binny who has only played six one day matches for India so far and that of Axar Patel who has only played nine matches and that to not outside the subcontinent. Many think both of these players did not deserve as spot since inform batsmen Murli Vijay was not selected along with Robin Uthappa who is having a very good domestic season .
Also some eyebrows were raised when Ravindra Jadeja and Ishant Sharma who are right now nursing an injury being part of the team, but BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said Ravindra Jadeja is undergoing rehabilitation and should be fit in 10 days and Ishant Sharma’s will also recover from his latest injury. Also he said Yuvraj Singh’s name was discussed but at least for him the writing was on the wall but several ex cricketers voiced their concern that this is a highly inexperienced side and if Yuvraj had been included he would have brought balance with his batting and bowling and not to mention his outstanding fielding.
