After the Bodo militants killed 80 people in Assam the center has vowed to take swift action against them and will not engage in any talks with them as per reports from Times of India. Home Minister Rajnath Singh told reporters “We will take strong actions to deal with the outfit and will control it effectively.”
He further added “Operations will definitely be launched against the outfit but cannot say when." "The killings by NDFB(S) is not an ordinary act of violence by a militant outfit, but an act of crafted terror and we will deal with it accordingly."
The National Investigative Agency (NIA) has taken over the investigation and against the brutal killings in Assam. Also the Home Minister assured the people of Assam and sad that “I have spoken to the Assam CM and we have decided to investigate the entire incident by the NIA. We want to see the links of such groups. We want to know with whom they have connections.” He also stressed that this issue has to be combated at both state and center and ruled out talks with groups which engage in terror and called them people with no religion or region.
Any safe havens which the militants may have will now be compromised as the governments of Bhutan and Myanmar have assured India that they will flush them out. Also Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced Rs 2 lakh as compensation for the victim’s family members.
