An Indian Soldier of the Border Security Force (BSF) was killed by Pakistan Rangers on the International Border in Samba district of Jammu region today. The police said "Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked firing on the Regal border outpost of BSF in Samba district of Jammu region," a senior police officer told IANS in winter capital Jammu.
"A BSF trooper was killed in Pakistan firing, which is still going on (around 1.45 pm). BSF has effectively retaliated," the police officer added. As 2014 comes to an end the growing border violations by Pakistan has only escalated after the Narandra Modi became India’s new Prime Minister. Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar has directed the security forces not to hold back and retaliate with "double the force."
Just few months ago after PM Modi refused to talk to Nawaz Sharif the tension at the border was escalated and Pakistan army and its border petrol the Pakistani rangers resorted to unprovoked firing which led to a very robust response by the Indian Army. It seems they have not learned their lessons and this border violation will continue for the time being.
