Militants stuck in Kashmir which has taken a huge toll on the security forces. So far eleven security force personnel have died and six militants killed in an Army camp in Uri area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district as per latest news report from Press Trust of India. Baramulla district is going to polls in the third phase of elections in the state on December 9. This is again a sinister action on the part of Pakistan backed terrorists who simply cannot digest the fact the people of Jammu and Kashmir want democracy and rule of the law. These attacks are clearly designed to put a stop on the upcoming visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who will hold a poll rally. Defence minister Manohar Parrikar said all militants involved in the attack would be eliminated. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in his official tweet handle wrote “Once again shows the desperate levels militants will go to disrupt peace and normalcy.”
These attacks have been carried out by suspected Lashkar e Taiba terrorist who are friendly terror group which Pakistan has no problem tolerating as long as they stay focused creating trouble in India. Just two days back Hafiz Saeed, the leader of banned terror outfit the Lashkar e Taiba and the blacklisted Jamaat-ud-Dawah held a huge Pakistan government sponsored rally in Lahore just over a week after the 6th anniversary of 26/11 terror attacks. This clearly shows the duality of Pakistan and how some terror groups are deemed necessary so that they could be used to inflict terror strikes in India.
With the advent of winter and closing of all the passes which the militants use this attack could be one last effort to create tension in the valley. But over the last six months the frequent violation by Pakistan at the Line of Control has proved to be a complete failure and all is has done is alienate people further from the separatist. If more such attacks will be followed the talks which Pakistan disparately wants to have with India will remain a distant possibility. Bottom line is that the third phase of the electoral process will go ahead on 9th of December without any hindrance and so far the voter turnout has been around 75% and the same is expected on 9th.
