A woman was killed and 11 persons were injured as Pakistani troops targeted 50 security outposts? And three dozen hamlets with heavy mortar shelling and firing overnight along the entire 192-km international border in Jammu and Kashmir. Extending the ceasefire violations to new areas, Pakistan Rangers shelled border outposts (BoPs) and villages in Samba and Kathua along with Jammu during the night and the firing was continuing till this morning according to Press Trust of India.
Also India has ruled out any talks at flag level meeting unless Pakistan stops this unprovoked attack on Indian Border outposts. This attack has brought misery on the civilians living near the border and because of this several people had to leave their villages. Seven people have died and over seventy injured and over 16000 have left for safe zone.
Border Security Force Spokesperson said "Pakistani Rangers again resorted to unprovoked mortar shelling and heavy firing on BSF posts all along International Border (IB) since 2000 hours last night." The BSF spokesperson further added "As many as 50 BSF BoPs were affected by the fire from Pakistan side."
Further “Firing and shelling targeted areas along IB in Arnia, R S Pura, Kanachak and Pargwal sub-sectors along IB in Jammu and Samba districts."
In the mean while the United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki Moon expressed his concern and he wants both sides to end the hostility through diplomacy. The General Secretary’s spokesperson Stephane Dujarric told reporters "The secretary general would call on both countries to resolve their issues diplomatically and through discussions."
This build of tension by Pakistan is nothing but pandering and increasing threat levels to get international attention for Kashmir which will again fail.
