This Dushara has brought bad news for some of the Patnaites with 32 people dead and 15 injured as per the reports from the accident site. The District Magistrate of Patna Manish Kumar Verma said around 32 people, most of them women and children, were killed in the stampede when there was a rumor that an electricity wire had fallen down. People started to run to save their lives.
Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manji was present Gandhi Maidan for Ravan Badh ceremony where the accident took place. All the injured were rushed to the hospital where doctors confirmed the death toll to be 32. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the Chief Minister of Bihar Mr Manji about the incident and also announced a compensation of Rs. 200,000 to family who have lost their beloveds.
The incident took place at Exhibition road near Gandhi Maidan with a rumor of the electricity wire fallen on the ground. This also talks about the security lapses of administration at such place where thousands of people gather. The administration should look at the aspects of administrative management.
