26/11 Mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi gets Bail

Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi the senior commander of Laskhar-e-Taiba and terror mastermind of 26/11 Mumbai attacks which took the lives of 166 Indian and foreign nationals has been granted bail by the anti terrorism court in Lahore according to latest reports from Times of India. He is one of the key people along with Abdul Wajid, Mazhar Iqbal, Sadiq, Shahid Jameel Riaz, Jamil Ahmed, Younas Anjum and Hafiz Saeed planned and executed this terror attack. Prime Minister Narendra Modi who had genuinely expressed shock and sadness over the mass killings which took place just two days back and had even asked for a two minute silent vigil out of respect for the departed have now to contend with this obnoxious decision by Pakistan. Also Pakistan can now forget about any chance of bilateral talks which it desperately wants and PM Modi will not be entertaining Sharif anytime soon.

This is nothing but a show of desperation on the part if the Pakistan Government after the 16th December Peshawar school attack which led the murder of 132 children. The court granted him bail after citing lack of evidence. But this should not come has a surprise since he had access to all forms of communications from within the prison compounds. Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi and his cohorts have never been stopped to plan and orchestrate terror attacks over Indian soil.

By realizing this terrorist after India had given ample evidence for Pakistan to prosecute this man is nothing but knee jerk reaction of yesterday’s attack in Peshawar and India’s refusal to hold talks with Pakistan. If Indians died in 26/11 attacks Pakistan must not forget many foreigners especially Americans were also killed. If relations with India are at an all time low the relationship with America is also has not been easy in the recent past. Nawaz Sharif Promise of tackling all types of terrorism emanating from Pakistan was just a sham. Till the time Pakistan uses terror group as a strategic asset regardless of any action taken against the Pakistani Taliban will remain a failed exercise.
