A spokesman has confirmed that he has been arrested and said the charges are still unknown but are linked to terrorism financing. On Monday, Hafiz Saeed with three of his aides were given pre-arrest bail by the anti-terrorism court in Pakistan against a JuD’s illicit use of land for a seminary. India is not impressed by claims of Pakistan and said that the action of terror financing is looking like an effort to trick or dupe the international community. Raveesh Kumar, foreign ministry spokesperson said that we are not getting fooled by these steps. We have also seen these convictions in the past several times.

The award of $10 million was kept for the person who will provide for any information and brings him to justice. Washington had also warned Islamabad of “repercussions” after he got released from house arrest in the year 2017.

India has given many dossiers to Pakistan describing the role of Lakshar and Hafiz Saeed in the Mumbai attacks. Islamabad has added that Saeed had been cleared by courts in Pakistan and India requires to provide more evidence.
